Baird Gives Back Week
Since Baird opened its doors in 1919, we have acted on our commitment to give back to the communities we serve.
Held each year since 2009, Baird associates come together to volunteer in local communities during Baird Gives Back week. Our firm is proud to support service and represent Baird's commitment to the communities in which its associates live and work.
Community involvement is part of the Baird culture—we are encouraged to maintain a balance between home, community, and work. Baird associates are encouraged to organize and participate in fund-raising events for many causes, including education, health and human services, and the arts.

The Foley Group, a team of Baird Financial Advisors in Philadelphia, helped cosponsor the first Whitpain Community Festival, a charitable music festival in the town of Whitpain, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 11. The event, which previously was a recreational harvest festival, recently expanded to include charitable elements after Baird Financial Advisor Patrick Foley was asked to help coordinate the event this year.
“Because of my involvement with the Whitpain Recreation Association, I was asked by the Township to help out with the annual festival,” Patrick explained. “Thinking of my sister Shannon’s efforts as head of a rock’n’roll cancer foundation, called Love Hope Strength, I proposed adding musical and charitable elements to what was then called the Harvest Festival.”
This year, the Harvest Festival partnered with Montgomery County Community College to host the new Whitpain Community Festival, which featured a craft fair, horseback rides, food trucks, face painting, fireworks and musical acts, including a performance by Puss N Boots, a rock/country trio featuring nine-time Grammy winner Norah Jones.
“We were thrilled to land Puss N Boots as our lead act this year,” Patrick said. “The festival has made a huge splash in the community, and as a sponsor, we have had a lot of fun expanding the event! We are very thankful to Baird for supporting this effort.”
The event also sought to benefit those suffering from bone marrow-related diseases and featured a tent sponsored by the Love Hope Strength Foundation, where guests could sign up on the National Bone Marrow Registry – a service that matches donors with patients in need. Other Baird entities joined The Foley Group in supporting the festival, including the Philadelphia branch office of Private Wealth Management, the Pennsylvania Public Finance office and Baird Foundation.
“By hosting this event, we have added over 100 names to the National Bone Marrow Registry, and have already located two potentially life-saving matches,” added Patrick. “We know that number will grow as time goes on.”
